WalkURLs runs entirely inside your browser. This document explains exactly what information exists, where it lives, and who can see what.
WalkURLs saves your URL list, current position, walking speed, theme preference, and sidebar state in your browser's localStorage. This data remains on your device. It is never transmitted to any server, and only you can access it.
Clearing your browser data or localStorage removes all of it permanently. WalkURLs holds no copy anywhere else.
WalkURLs does not set, read, or use any cookies.
When you open walkurls.com, your browser sends standard HTTP requests to load the page. These requests inherently carry your IP address, browser type, operating system, language preference, referring page, and a timestamp. Web servers record this information as part of standard internet protocol operation. These logs serve infrastructure maintenance and security purposes.
This is how every website on the internet functions. The content of your URL lists (stored in localStorage) is never part of these requests.
WalkURLs loads certain assets such as CSS frameworks, fonts, and images from external content delivery networks and servers. When your browser fetches these files, your IP address and standard request metadata are visible to those services. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
Your internet service provider, DNS resolver, network administrator, and the routing infrastructure between your device and our servers can observe that your browser connected to walkurls.com. This is inherent to how internet routing operates and applies to every website you visit.
The URLs you paste into WalkURLs remain in your browser's localStorage and travel across the network only when the iframe loads each individual site. At that point, your browser connects directly to that site's server, and that site's own privacy practices apply.
When WalkURLs loads a website inside the viewer iframe, your browser establishes a direct connection to that website's server. The privacy policy of each embedded website governs the data exchanged during that connection. WalkURLs has no access to and no control over what happens inside the iframe.
WalkURLs collects no personal information. There are no accounts, no registration forms, no email fields, no payment systems, and no user profiles. You use the application as an anonymous visitor.
This privacy policy may be revised as the application evolves. The current version is always available at this URL. Continued use of WalkURLs after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
For questions regarding this policy or data practices, please refer to the Impressum page for publisher and operator contact details.
